A safe approach to the treatment of type 2 diabetes in elderly patients

Introduction . Type 2 diabetes is a significant medical problem. The solution to this problem lies not only in lowering the patient’s blood glucose level, but also preventing complications of diabetes, influencing insulin resistance and normalizing body weight. Aim To develop an effective safe treatment regimen for elderly women with type which aimed at compensating carbohydrate metabolism, improving lipid metabolism anthropometric parameters. Materials methods study involved 80 aged 60 74 years, who were divided into groups 40 people. Group 1 included patients receiving traditional therapy diabetes. Patients group received method developed by us, including, addition regimen, drug Subetta®, cholecalciferol drops. All collected complaints anamnesis, assessed parameters, glucose, glycated hemoglobin, vitamin D, profile. Results initially compensated had abdominal obesity, atherogenic dyslipidemia, D deficiency. Anthropometric parameters significantly improved, HbA1c levels decreased target values after 6 months against background use Subetta® cholecalciferol. Also group, indicators improved: cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides decreased, HDL increased. Vitamin reached range. No episodes hypoglycemia recorded. Conclusions contributed achievement improved profile, weight loss. This well tolerated has low risk hypoglycemia, especially important patients.
